I wrote these children's stories a few years ago.  I only ever got round to publishing one of them - Mike the Baby Mammoth.  It took an age to illustrate it and when I'd done and tried to put the illustrations into a book I could publish, I realised that I'd created them all in the wrong size!  I was never completely happy with this book and didn't have the patience to do more illustrations, so I took the book offline and its been sat festering on my computer ever since.

I wrote several more children's stories besides.  These have never been illustrated nor read to anyone other than my own kids.  So I decided to publish them all on my website.  Perhaps here, they can be read and appreciated.  And if you're an illustrator, and would like to have a go at putting pictures to my stories, please be in touch.

Mike the Baby Mammoth

Mike is lonely young mammoth who is desperate to find friends but there is no one in his herd his age.  Desperate to find fun he heads off to see who he can find.  He meets a ground sloth, smilodon and cave bear and finds species is no barrier to friendship. 

Sam the Smilodon

Sam is a smilodon cub who loves to play. One day his enthusiastic playing leads him to fall in a fiver.  Swept downstream into the sea, he eventually is washed up on a beach.  Somehow, he has to find his way home. 

Gary the Ground Sloth

Gary is a young ground sloth who thinks that perhaps the tastiest leaves are at the top of the trees.  But ground sloths can't climb trees.  He recruits his friends to try to help, he just has to find a friend who knows how to climb. 

Ben the Cave Bear

​Ben is a Cave Bear cub who loves honey, but his mum and dad forbid him from eating too much. Ben decides to sneak off and find some honey himself and he manages to find a bee hive.  Getting the honey out of the hive is a challenge he's not quite ready for.

Sam the Stegosaurus

A young stegosaurus goes on the hunt for an adventure and finds it in droves, but little does he know he is being stalked by a t-rex and narrowly avoids his fate at every turn.

Rob the Rat Wizard

When a wizard comes Rattidon and awes the townsfolk with his awesome magic, Rob the rat decides he has found the career for him.  This is the story of a young rat’s journey to wizardry that somehow, leads to witchcraft.
