Ready to launch!  Exciting.  Ok, its just my website for now, the publishing date for THE GENERAL'S SON is still March 2023 but today marks the moment I unleash an outline concept of my debut series of fantasy novels to the world.

So, its like 2 p.m. or so and I'm messing on the internet, do I not have a job to do?  Well yes, as it happens.  I have a job, no, two in fact, maybe three if you include writing.  I also have a pile of washing that needs hanging up, a kitchen to tidy, a veg garden to tame, food to make for dinner time and a gym session to squeeze in.  But if you got bored enough to read my 'about page', you'd see I have a writing addition.  And that addiction seems to run to writing about my writing too.

So I'm not at work - why?  Because I took a few days leave to de-stress and get my life back in order.  I'm there, more or less.  Mostly de-stressed at least.  Tax return done, bill just £9 this year!  Wehoo!  Turns out the Army's millage allowance of just 25p is good for something - it leaves a lot of spare allowance to offset your tax bill.  So that's that done.  Some other bits and bobs squared away too.

I've also written some draft blurbs for my books (check out the books page), bit of an outline of the what happens there, will probably edit them before they end up on a back cover.  Messed around with a lot of IT type stuff to make this page work and behold!  My brand new platform for shameless self-promotion.  Enjoy!

So, I'm new to blogging.  I'm 37 and feeling really old.  I command officer cadets who I could conceivably have given birth to (if I'd started early).  I have far too many grey hairs and wrinkles that are starting to sprint away from my eyes in a mad dash towards my hairline.  

A few days back I was quizzing said officer cadets on the merits of the various social media platforms.  Before that I had to Google what a blog was and how one makes one.  It turns out you need a website for blogs and even the people who use TikTok and Snap Chat don't fully understand what their purpose is.  But hey, someone's making a shed load of cash out them somewhere, well done them for making a multi-million-dollar business out of stuff folk don't really need.

So I've done loads of research on how to make it as an self-published author, and it turns out you need an online presence (plus decent books of course; I keep getting told mine are good and I hope you'll agree).  Hence my website, hence this blog.  I'll try to witter on about my crazy life every week or so; if you ever feel like you have too much on in your own life, read about mine, it will make you feel better.  Alternatively, if you have more on, let me know, please!  It might just help me.
